Is My Child Gifted? Part Two: Arguing

Aside from the more obvious manifestations of giftedness, such as high ability in one or more areas, character traits are an excellent guide. For example, the argumentative child almost certainly has a high IQ.

The advanced thinking that goes along with accelerated intellectual development makes it likely that opportunities for debate and endless surmise will attract the gifted child like a bee to honey. Then the parents have to cope, and as I learned long ago when my two profoundly gifted children were young, they can wear you out with their tenacity and high-level thinking.
