The Value of a Meltdown, Part One

All children have meltdowns; episodes where they fall apart because they’ve had enough. Overstimulation, too much stress, or just plain tiredness can push them over the edge. And what’s true for normal children applies even more to the gifted.

Parents of gifted children also exceed their thresholds from time to time, and although these experiences feel miserable, they can take a positive direction, actually moving you and your child onto a new and more productive path.
